Message from the Auxiliary:

Thanks to everyone who helped make our Memorial Day in Coon Valley very special this year. We were so thankful to have the parade back, and it was a beautiful day with wonderful weather. The street was filled with people watching the parade, and poppies were prevalent. The Memorial Day Program was also very meaningful. Our Coon Valley did a wonderful job of honoring those soldiers who died in service to our country. Thanks to all of you who worked in the legion on Memorial Day helping serve the meal, who brought cakes, and who cleaned up afterwards. We can not do this without you! Also, thanks to those who delivered poppies to area businesses for distribution in May, and those who collected them afterwards! When you are in these businesses, please make a point of thanking them for letting the Auxiliary put our poppies there every May. Here are the businesses: Chances Are, Coon Creek Auto, Knutson Memorial Library, Legacy, Mane Attraction, River Bank, Star Auto, Stockyard, Sweet Valley Artisans, Valley Market, and WCCU Westby High School Senior Bianca Nelson was selected to receive the Coon Valley Auxiliary’s 2022 scholarship. President Julie Nelson attended the Westby Area Schools Awards night program and presented the scholarship to  Bianca. Congratulations Bianca and best of luck to you! This year, the Legion members will be handling the drive-thru Chicken Q, so the Auxiliary does not have a work schedule. Be sure to come and support the Legion by buying their delicious chicken on that day!

We do not meet in July.

Our next meeting will be on August 3rd at 6pm. It is election of officers. We look forward to seeing you then! Have a great summer!

Sincerely, Julie Nelson
